Three places. Two weeks.
One very good reason to make the time.
The one non-negotiable
A route made for planes, trains, taxis & boats.
No motorcycles needed.
Capital heat. Northern calm. Andaman blue.
Royal temples, working river neighborhoods, megamalls, tiny food stalls, and a skyline that glows until morning.
Bangkok is not one experience. It is six cities happening at once. Stay near the river or a BTS/MRT line, start early, take a midday reset, then go back out hungry.
A 13th-century Lanna capital ringed by a moat, backed by mountains, and built for slower mornings.
The Old City is compact enough to wander. Outside the walls: coffee, craft neighborhoods, night markets, and Doi Suthep high above town. This is where the trip exhales.
Sea cliffs rise straight from turquoise water. Longtail boats replace roads. Every horizon looks impossible.
Use Ao Nang as the easy base, then leave it often. Railay is cut off by limestone and reached by boat. Hong Islands bring the open-water day. Krabi Town adds a more local night.
More rain. Rougher Andaman seas.
Cooler north. Beach season begins.
Better weather. Prices start climbing.
